I reached a personal goal I had set for myself a couple of weeks ago. I really wanted to walk over 10,000 steps in one day. I walked on the treadmill for 90 minutes without stopping. I unfortunately didn't use my good common sense and walked barefoot. Pretty stupid huh? I still have blisters on the bottom of my feet, but I reached my goal. I could have kept on walking but it was late and I needed to go to bed. I wasn't sore the next day, which surprised me.

Last night on the news, one of the stories was about a "diet" called The Step Diet. All you do is walk. You can start off slow and then increase your steps by 500 everyday. You can walk 500 steps in 5 minutes. I've done it and it isn't that hard. I read somewhere that to lose weight you should walk 100 steps a minute. Hopefully I can do this consistently. The other part of the diet is to eat 25% less of whatever your eating. So I guess if your eating a sandwich at lunch you would only eat 3/4ths of it.Jon's mom gave me a treadmill two weeks ago. I really like it. It is so much easier than walking in place. Here's my treadmill:

I was suppose to start cleaning Diane's house today but the weather is terrible. One day it's almost 80 degrees and the next day it's in the 20's with freezing rain. I don't drive when it's icy. Maybe I'll get to do it Thursday or Friday.

I'm also thinking about joining a gym. There is a very nice one right up the road from my house with everything you can imagine including a heated Olympic size pool. It's pretty pricey, so I am going to have to budget for it.

Things are going good right now, my car is fixed, the heater in our house was fixed yesterday, the fence in the backyard has been fixed. The kids are feeling better and I am doing alright with my weight loss.
